NEWS FLASH

We have a lot of great news this week. The Blues Festival Guide will receive a KBA award from The Blues Foundation,  plus our magazine editor Michele Lundeen is among the final four competitors for the Blues Foundation award for Best Self Produced CD of 2005.

Blues Festival Guide to Receive KBA Award

Blues Festival Guide Awarded By The Blues Foundation 2006 is off to a great start for The Blues Festival Guide magazine. The Blues Foundation in Memphis TN recently announced the newest recipients of their "Keeping the Blues Alive" awards. The Blues Festival Guide was awarded the honor in the Print Media category.

Each year, The Blues Foundation presents the Keeping the Blues Alive (KBA) Awards to individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to the Blues world. The Blues Festival Guide will be honored at The Blues Foundation's 2006 Keeping the Blues Alive (KBA) Award ceremony on Saturday, January 28, 2006, in Memphis Tennessee.

Unlike the Blues Music Awards, the highest award in the Blues voted on by the thousands of members of The Blues Foundation, the KBAs are awarded to non-performers strictly on the basis of merit by a select panel of Blues professionals. Noted educator, author, journalist, and KBA Chairman Art Tipaldi notes "The KBA is awarded for the recipient's lifetime body of work; we don't view the recipient as the winner of a "best of the year" category."

Best Self-Produced CD, Final Four Competitors Announced

Michele Lundeen Song Inside MeThe Blues Festival Guide Magazine's editor, Michele Lundeen is among the four finalists in the Blues Foundation's 2006 "Best Self-Produced CD" contest.
